Choir Competition 2015

Hey guys! So… WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS once again!! I can’t wipe away the smile on my face. Haha.. all our hard work have paid off. It has been quite a journey. Can you imagine a bunch of people from different walks in life coming together as one and having the same passion that is SINGING? I think it is too good too be true.

I was nervous the day before the competition because I don’t want all our effort wasted and also because I don’t want disappoint our past seniors who have all worked so hard to make PCGHS choir what it is today. But fortunately, we won and this is the 5th consecutive year we won since us F5s were Form 1. The two seniors who came today were our F5 seniors when we were in F1. And I was glad that we didn’t disappoint them at all.

This the last time us F5s are singing with you guys. And honestly I felt very emotional after we sang the last words “lai yo he” and also when we got off stage after taking pics with the trophy. Haha.. I will miss talking to you guys and singing with you guys in the bilik syarahan. You guys are the best choir ever!!

I just want to take this opportunity to thank you guys for your effort. Despite all the problems we faced, we finally did it! I must give credit to the sectional leaders, pianist and conductor for your advice and for teaching them the right notes. And we also couldn’t have done it without teacher, Miss Khoo who sacrificing her time and effort for our choir. Thank you teacher! 🙂

You all did great! I will always remember the moments singing with you guys and waiting for the results and screaming on the top of our lungs when we were announced as the winners. I cannot wait to see you guys perform next year after I have graduated. I will mark down all the dates on my calendar and try to make it to those events, including the one next year in Singapore. With the future committee and sectional leaders leading you guys, I am sure PCGHS CHOIR will continue its legacy and expand to different horizons and be recgonised wherever you go. 😀

Have a good rest (you guys deserve it) and best of luck in your exams and we will see each other very soon. Bye for now!

Choir Competition (9 Aug)

Hey guys! Competition day is tomorrow! Please remember to sleep earlier today by 11pm. Do not scream or shout or waste your energy. ‪#‎SOV‬ Just relax. And remember to pack everything in your bag. We will meet at the bilik syarahan tomorrow at 11am. Please be punctual.

Don’t forget to look through your scores today. Remember the dynamics, phrasing and other technical stuff teacher said. But do not forget to have energy when you sing. When we sing, it is important to understand the lyrics and have emotion when you sing. Enjoy yourself! Do not be too nervous. We have practiced for so long already so we should not be too nervous. But, we also must not be overly confident.

No matter what happens, I can see that all of you guys have put in so much effort and time for this competition. I am glad that we have all gotten closer these pass few months and I am very fortunate to be a part of this big choir family. Let us just sing our hearts out tomorrow and be the most beautiful singers on that stage tomorrow.

Choir Competition 2014

We DID IT!!! Yet again.. First of, Congratulations to our choir for doing their best. Everyone’s hard work certainly paid off. But it is also kind of sad because this will be the last time the form 5’s are performing with us.. :'(

Anyways, congrats to the other teams who did participate who are such good sports. They were AMAZING in their own way. I hope that every choir member enjoyed the experience where we worked hard together and coming out for practice and even getting scold by teacher!!

A HUGE thank you to Pn. Khoo Hooi Lay for coaching us and being so patient with us. And thank you to Ms. Neoh Ai Lay for accompanying us there.. It’s been 4 years consecutively that we won this competition. I hope that we can maintain this streak and be better than we are this year. 🙂
